OFID Scholarships Application is a full Master’s Scholarship Award sponsored by OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). OFID offers this scholarship to students in the field of Development or Energy Studies like economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification) and related Science and Technology programs.
Overview
OFID Scholarships Application is a full-tuition award to support the study of a Master’s degree program at an accredited university or higher education institution. This program is open to students from developing countries worldwide, regardless of whether their country is a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
OPEC is committed to supporting talented individuals who have a passion for research in the field of development through this scholarship scheme. It seeks to help these highly motivated, highly driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of graduate studies.
This year, several scholarships are being awarded. In order to apply for this scholarship, the applicants must have been admitted into a Master’s degree program at an institution of higher learning.
They should be from a developing country (except OFID Member Countries) and must select a subject of study that is related to the work of OPEC. This can include subjects such as the economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment and desertification, and science and technology.
The candidates must complete the online application form providing all necessary information and uploading all required documents. They must also submit two letters of recommendation, an official transcript, CV, an essay, and a passport copy. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must then upload the necessary supporting documents. These include a CV, two recommendation letters and certificates/transcripts from their highest level of education completed.
Additionally, they must submit a letter of motivation and a personal essay on how they plan to use the skills learned during their master’s program to help improve their home country. The final stage is the submission of the online application and uploaded supporting documents.
Requirements for Applicants

Application Procedures

Applicants should log into the portal as often as necessary to ensure that their application and all required documents are complete, including a short essay and two letters of recommendation. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All materials submitted become the property of OFID and will not be returned to the applicant.
All students enrolled in a master’s degree program in a field related to the work of OFID are eligible to apply. The subject of the degree must be within one of the following areas: economics of development (poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development), environment (desertification) or other related science and technology fields.
