The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities in Canada opened a Stream where candidates with Carpenter occupation can be pulled in from the Express Entry Pool. This selection of candidates is for the purpose of adjusting on occupations facing shortages.
Nova Scotia organized a second draw this month under its Labour Market Priorities Stream in Canada whereby eligible Candidates who have Carpenter occupation with a profile in the federal Express Entry pool are invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.
How Am I Eligible?
The Labour Market Priorities Stream makes access for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) to find the Express Entry pool for candidates with eligibility who have work experience in occupations that are encountering a shortage of domestic workers.
The latest selection round has sent out 22 invitations to eligible carpenters who want to immigrate to Canada as Carpenter from the Express Entry Pool. See Canada Express Entry Process- A Step By Step Guide.
Candidates who are selected are mandated to provide reference letters from employers to prove that they have two or more years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter.
Self-employed carpenters are also eligible and are required to provide documentation from third parties that indicate the service provided, and payment details.
Those selected are expected to also have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 5 or higher in English or French in all four language abilities which include reading, writing, speaking and listening.
They must be able to additionally demonstrate sufficient funds that will be enough to successfully establish themselves and their families in Nova Scotia and capable of paying immigration costs and travel expenses.
Selected candidates must have legal status in their current country of residence and be able to meet eligibility criteria in place at the time of being issued a Letter of Interest. They are expected to have a valid Express Entry number and meet all IRCC criteria for the Express Entry pool.
The Labour Market Priorities Stream was recently opened in August 2018 and has ever been used since then to invite early childhood education workers, financial auditors and accountants, and French-speaking Express Entry candidates.
The selected carpenters from the September 20 draw currently have 30 days to apply for a provincial nomination.
Successful nominees obtained 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for their Express Entry ranking score which will effectively guarantee them the invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence. See What Are Your Different Pathways for Canada PR?
The advantage this has is that in this past draw, there was no minimum CRS requirement.
